Stop With The Negative Thoughts!!

When you think negative thoughts they can consume your life and begin causing problems. Negative thinking could be thought of as a bad disease. A contagious disease that spreads throughout your thought processes and breaks down your life. Your brain is probably the best resource you have With its power it has the ability to define how you are going to handle any reality. By choosing to think negatively about your life, you will nourish a negative reality. Thats right I said “choosing”, no matter how many ways you look at it you have to make a conscious choice to believe life cannot become better.
Many people that suffer the wide variety of aspects of this disease experience mental and health problems that last for long periods of time. This line of thinking becomes a habit, and in some cases creates routines based purely on negative thinking. For instance, procrastination is the inconvenient habit of putting important tasks off to a different time. Many times the tendency to procrastinate can consume your productive life. Once you have this affliction it becomes nearly impossible to change this routine.

Our brains are made up of a conscious mind and a sub-conscious mind. The conscious mind is aware of your surroundings, your thoughts, and logically handles tasks. The conscious mind is like a dummy computer with basic memory and processing power. At the same time the sub-conscious mind takes care of your body, your intuition, your memory, acts as a hub for your conscious mind and has the ability to handle the tasks that are sub-routines or our habits. I am sure there are things we do every day we don’t have to think about. That is because our sub-conscious mind has this routine logged and repeats it over and over at specified times. In this way our sub-conscious mind is almost a super computer, however its only as smart and efficient as its programming orders it to be.

When you think negatively for a long period of time you are programming your super computer to work against you. I look and feel fat and I cannot lose weight becomes a routine telling yourself you cannot lose weight. Life is hopeless and will never get better creates an uncommon sense of failure. I have to smoke and cannot live without it only fuels an addiction that is already to hard to quit. Essentially you are telling yourself to fail and once these negative thoughts make it into a routine, you have created a lasting impression.

If any of this sounds familiar, an you have many excuses why your life is bad you are a victim. A victim of your own negative thinking. There are many methods to breaking this cycle. The best way is to stop thinking negatively. Sounds simple, it is. Once you have accepted your own thoughts are your worst enemy, you can arm yourself with tools to make your life better. Basically your taking yourself back to school and retraining yourself to have a good self image. Then you adopt the habit of thinking appropriately. Your healing is this simple, stop thinking negative thoughts and you will improve your outlook on life.

Positive Affirmations or thinking, self hypnosis and any other self help program all have the same foundation. Improve your thoughts, you improve your life. None of these are successful unless you can stop thinking negatively. None of this is possible unless you are able to stop the bad routines and replace them with healthy ones. Starting small is the best way. Each morning tell yourself you are going to have a good day. Repeat it almost as a mantra, create a song that is just for you that puts good images in your mind. Each night go to sleep with the belief you did the best you could today and will do much better tomorrow. Once this habit has made it into your system, the responses will be dramatic. Life will take you on a new path.

Two weeks, two weeks of telling yourself you are going to have good days and do good things. You should notice a difference. If after two weeks you have tried and it is not working, you are not talking to yourself loud enough.

Negative thinking can take over your life. How many people do you know that are on medicines to treat a mental illness that may not need it? How many people do you know that are suffering inside all because of there own minds? I would say a vast percentage of these people are mis-diagnosed. I am not a fan of the mental medications out there. I believe it is a temporary solution that creates more problems.

If you do not believe me, try it yourself. Go home and start these simple things. Pick one thing you do not like about your life. Pick one habit you would love to break. Pick one thing you would like to change and concentrate on the best way to tell yourself to change it. Once you have done this, everyday tell yourself you can do it, it will change, and you will feel better. Do this enthusiastically, commanding yourself to act differently. Once in the morning, once every time you go to the bathroom, once every time you eat, and at bedtime. Do this everyday for two weeks. I guarantee you will see a difference. NegNeNegative

  1. Nice post!

Negative thoughts about self, but also negative thoughts in general are detrimental to our health. I had/have a major with problem of fighting people in my head. I have all sorts of conflicts, I practice all sorts of confrontations, and obsesses/rewrite past ones.

I took a class in mindfulness based stress reduction and learned to meditate. That helped because I can now catch myself when I start going down that path. I take a deep breath, and try to just move on and not dwell on it.

All we have control over is the present. Can’t change the past, so it’s worthless to obsess over it. And we don’t know what’s going to happen in the future. Be in the here and now, and don’t get caught up in the negative!

    • You and I are alike a’lot because I use to have issues with people as well. I also use to hold things inside and allow a’lot of anger to sit and invest in me. I now know how to handle these things due to therapy and looking at things from a positive point of view. Ive had ulcers a few times due to stress and negativity. Something I don’t want to deal with again… Thank you for your comment and also stopping by :-)
